The 3 Biggest Myths About Staffing and Recruiting

May 16,2014

Are you struggling to find the right employees for your company? Seems like it should be a simple task, shouldn’t it? News reports are constantly telling us about all the people searching for employment opportunities. Unfortunately, the process of recruiting high quality people to your company is not so simple.

You may have considered using a staffing and recruiting agency to assist you. That was until you heard all the stories about how these types of companies are ruining the fabric of society! Well, it’s time to put some of these staffing and recruiting myths to rest.

Staffing and recruiting agencies are…

1. Too expensive.

At first glance this myth appears to have some merit…that is until you really look into it.  As you begin the recruiting process, you need to look at all of the costs associated with it. Some of the most obvious costs that you would incur by doing this in-house are the costs of finding recruits, the time it takes to review and do background checks on potential candidates, and the time it takes to interview and hire. These individual costs disappear with the use of a staffing and recruiting agency.

2. Don’t care about quality employees.

This is completely false. A good staffing and recruiting agency is basically staking its professional reputation on the people that it sends to you.  They screen, interview, provide testing and background checks, all in an attempt to find you the best candidates. It is also important to remember that that the staffing and recruiting agency works for the employer not the job seeker. Most staffing and recruiting agencies want to build long term relationships with the companies that they serve. Therefore, they are highly motivated to find candidates that meet the specific needs of your company.

3. Are only good for entry-level positions.

This is another prevalent myth. While most temporary labor positions tend to be entry level, staffing and recruiting agencies can help your company with placements at any level; all the way up to executives. They are professionals at matching the right people to the right job, no matter the position. Whether you are looking for project based help or ongoing position placement, these agencies can find the person you are looking for.

These are just a few of the misconceptions about staffing and recruiting agencies.  While the use of these agencies might not make sense for everyone, it’s important to do your own research instead of just taking someone else’s word for it.

So, if you’re still struggling to find the right employees for your company, consider leaving it to the experts. It’ll save you the hassle of doing it yourself and allow you to focus on the parts of your business where you’re the expert.
